Soran Lind

Free lance classical saxophonist

"As an artist, sound is the core of my musical identity. With the LefreQue, I’m able to shape my tone with even greater precision – it enhances the natural overtones of the instrument and helps me achieve a sound that is rounder, warmer, and more refined." - Soran Lind

Soran Lind is a young Norwegian-Iranian saxophonist whose artistry has captured audiences across Europe and beyond. He has established himself as a dynamic performer, known for his virtuosic technique and warm, expressive sound. Soran is an exceptional young musician with a distinctive voice and growing international presence. Among his recent highlights is his recital debut at the Wiener Musikverein in June 2025, which was received with great enthusiasm. Soran’s debut album will be released on LAWO Classics (2026).

As a soloist, Soran has performed with orchestras like Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra and the Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces. His performances have been broadcast on Norwegian television and radio (NRK), BBC Radio, Danish Radio (DR), and Latvian Radio, earning him a reputation as a compelling storyteller through music. A passionate chamber musician, Soran has been a sought-after performer at festivals such as Oslo Chamber Music Festival, Risør Chamber Music Festival (two seasons), Suena Festival Vienna, Oslo Opera Festival, Drammen Arts Festival and Arosa Music Festival. In addition to performing the standard repertoire, like Ibert’s “Concertino da Camera” or Milhaud’s “Scaramouche”, Soran is passionate about performing contemporary music. This has led to 15 world premieres for saxophone in the 2023/2024 season, showcasing his commitment to collaborating with the new generation of composers. In 2024, he graduated from the prestigious diploma program at the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien, previously having studied at Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin, and at the Norwegian Academy of Music.

„Soran has a completely unique expression. There’s a real sense of freedom in his playing. He uses the music in his own way. You can see that he’s one with the saxophone – like it’s his best friend or lover. When he plays, the instrument becomes part of him.” – Mari Maurstad (Nordre Aker Budstikke)
